PANAJI: The state-level permission committee (SLPC) on Monday directed the organiser of an electronic dance music (EDM) festival at Vagator to pay all fees, including a licence fee of Rs 1 crore, by Wednesday.

The three-day festival, organised by Ahmedabad-based M/s Sudarshan Entertainment Pvt Ltd, will be held from December 27 to 29. A SLPC member said that the organiser will have to pay all fees, including bandobast fees to the police department and fire and emergency department, besides paying a licence fee and bank guarantee. All this would have to be paid by 5pm on Wednesday.

The organiser had requested the SLPC to waive off tax on 'passes' to be issued, but the SLPC asked the organiser to approach the commercial tax department. The organiser had also sought a waiver of other fees, but it (SLPC) said it does not have the authority to take a decision in the regard.

He said, the organisers have been directed to make changes in the event timings on its website as they are misleading. The festival is open from 12pm to 10pm on all three days, but the website mentions the start time as 10am, which the organisers have been asked to correct. The website portrays the event as a non-stop 72-hour music event, which too it has been asked to clarify as the event will close at 10pm on each of the days.

The organizer has started erecting temporary structures and is likely get the final permission this week.
