(MENAFN) Following a firearm confrontation with his father the 28 year old Track Palin, former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's son, has been charged with both assault and burglary.

Palin supposedly forced an entry late Saturday using a window to the Alaska residence of his parents, as police confirmed.

Based on documents which US media got hold of, Track Palin defended his crimes by claiming he had been on pain pills and was intoxicated.
