Maid caught on camera abusing husky while employer away

A video posted on Facebook showing an injured husky apparently being abused by a maid in Singapore has been taken down at the dog owner's request, and authorities are investigating the case.

The owner of the dog, who had been away at the time of the alleged abuse, said the husky had been experiencing walking difficulties due to a rheumatic disorder.

The video, apparently shot by a neighbor, shows the animal, with a piece of gauze covering a wound on its left hip, lying on the ground whining. The maid appears and hits it on the head with a stainless-steel dog-food bowl.

At 10pm on Sunday, a netizen named wrote a Facebook post and attached the video, Lianhe Wanbao (Singapore) reported.

Yeow said he had reported the alleged abuse case to the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA), which in turn made an appeal to the public for further information that would assist in its the investigation of the case.

The family who own the dog is following up the case with the AVA.
