Market Now: United Breweries, Tata Global Beverages keep Nifty FMCG index up
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36 points at 10,425, while the BSE Sensex was 108 points up at 33,710.
NEW DELHI: Gains in United Breweries (up 3.69 per cent), Tata Global Beverages (up 2.22 per cent), United Spirits (up 1.95 per cent) and GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (up 1.53 per cent) were keeping the Nifty FMCG index in the green zone in afternoon trade on Tuesday.

The Nifty FMCG index was trading 0.51 per cent up at 26,589 around 01:45 pm (IST).

Shares of Dabur India (up 1.32 per cent), Marico (up 1.25 per cent), Godrej Industries (up 1.05 per cent), Britannia Industries (up 0.84 per cent), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare (up 0.74 per cent) and Jubilant Foodworks (up 0.63 per cent) were also seen in the green.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) (down 0.57 per cent) was the only component in the Nifty FMCG index that was in the red around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 36 points at 10,425, while the BSE Sensex was 108 points up at 33,710.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 32 were trading in the green, while 18 were in the red.

Shares of SAIL, REC, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, PFC, Power Grid, ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Vedanta Ltd, Ashok Leyland were among the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange.

Shares of UPL, Hero MotoCorp, Eicher Motors, Aurobindo Pharma, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors were among the top gainers in the Nifty50 index.

However, HCL Technologies, Wipro, Infosys, HPCL, Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank were among the losers in the index.
