Update: Despite its record, ASU has gotten off to slow starts in its past two contests. The Sun Devils trailed 15-2 at Kansas and 13-0 against Vanderbilt before rallying. In Sunday’s win, post players Romello White and De'Quon Lake struggled passing out of double teams. Guards Tra Holder (21.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 4.9 apg) and Shannon Evans (18.6 ppg, 4.9 apg) are playing at a high level. Entering Monday, ASU’s 40.7 3-point FG percentage ranked 26th nationally. … Longwood (3-8) has lost three in a row. The Lancers rank among the country’s worst teams in offensive and defensive efficiency.

Students: 'Guard-U' T-shirts will be available tonight
You may have noticed ASU basketball coach Bobby Hurley and his players sporting 'Guard U' shirts after the Sun Devils' 95-85 win over the then No. 2 Kansas Jayhawks.
The Adidas shirts are maroon and have "GUARD U" written in gold letters across the chest with a pitchfork under the lettering.
Some stores have started to carry the shirts, and others say they've got them en route, but if you're an ASU student, you could be one of the lucky 500 recipients of a free Guard U shirt at Tuesday's home game against Longwood.

ASU's hot start already is paying off in recruiting
Michael Foster -- a respected freshman from Wisconsin-- committed to the Sun Devils shortly after watching them defeat Vanderbilt in front of Sunday's capacity crowd. A 6-9 forward, Foster plays for Washington High School of Information Technology in Milwaukee.
Foster told 247 Sports recruiting expert Evan Daniels that he liked ASU because of its style of play. "They let their bigs dribble up the court and make plays," he said.
If he keeps growing, Foster (already 220 pounds) could end up playing center in college. He's skilled and long. Per 247 Sports, Foster also has attracted early interest from Purdue, Georgia Tech, UNLV, UW-Milwaukee and San Diego State.
