    Kriel's camp denies Gloucester link

Cape Town - Jaco Kriel's management team has brushed off rumours linking him with move to English club Gloucester.

England publications the Rugby Paper and Rugby Pass, reported that Kriel has signed a three-year deal with former Lions coach Johan Ackermann's new side.

However, Kriel's management In Touch Sports denied the report.

On their Twitter account, In Touch Sports wrote, "Simply media speculation @jacok6 has not signed for @gloucesterrugby He is signed & committed to @LionsRugbyCo for Super Rugby. Will only make a decision on his future in March after consulting with Lions."

Kriel signed a two-year deal with Japanese side Kubota Spears in June, which allows him to play Super Rugby for the Lions before heading to Japan.

Kriel, who is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, captained the Lions in the latter parts of the Super Rugby competition, as regular skipper Warren Whiteley was out injured.

The Lions lost 25-17 to the Crusaders in the final at Ellis Park.
