Jaipur: Employees of the Rajasthan State Roadways Transportation Corporation (RSRTC) began a two-day
dharna across the state on Tuesday. They have been demanding pending payment of bonus and ex gratia amounts due for financial year 2016-17. Amounts due to them as dearness allowance and other payments, including pension benefits to retired employees, are pending.
All unions of the workers joined the dharna, including AITUC, CITU, INTUC and BJMS. After days of strike earlier, the state road transport minister had made an agreement with the workers on September 14 this year but even those promises have not been kept. Instead, the state government is all set to sell prime land belonging to the transport corporation, a press release from the workers said on Tuesday.
Workers have announced that they will protest throughout the state on December 28 to press for their demands.
