KOCHI:  Former Vigilance Director Jacob Thomas, presently the IMG Director, on Monday appeared before the Kerala High Court. Thomas was directed to appear in person by the HC which had directed him to submit a statement on whether the settlement registers of the controversial land at Pattoor were indeed genuine. He had filed a report before the Lok Ayukta which said the settlement registers were not genuine and the supporting documents were doctored.

Thomas on Monday informed the court he had made the submission on the basis of the 37 documents provided to him by the revenue authorities. However, the court declined to accept the report prepared by him on the grounds a government officer seeking to submit documents before the court should consult the state’s law officers. Hence, Thomas was directed to hand over the details to the Additional DG, Prosecutions.
