Our party will achieve Mission-150 in Karnataka: BS Yeddyurappa

BS Yeddyurappa

BENGALURU: BJP state president BS Yeddyurappa on Monday said people of Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh have taught a befitting lesson to Congress which was making desperate attempts to come to power by dividing society on the basis of caste.Speaking to media persons at the party office in the city after celebrating the victories in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh polls, Yeddyurappa said the credit for the victory should go to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah.

“I congratulate both of them. A similar formula involving the duo will work in Karnataka too, and the saffron party will achieve Mission-150 in the ensuing assembly elections. Today’s poll results are indications that Karnataka will be a Congress-free state soon,” he said.“It is rare to see such a nationwide celebration after a state election result,” the former chief minister said.

Claiming that the party’s victory proved that Rahul Gandhi completely failed in face of Modi’s charisma, Yeddyurappa said Rahul can’t save the Congress party. “Despite the Congress projecting the revolutionary decisions on demonetisation and GST in a negative way, people did not let the BJP down because of Modi and Shah. Both of them will now focus to realise our dream of making Karnataka a Congress-free state,” he added.

Over decline in the number of seats won in Gujarat, Yeddyurappa said such a scenario is possible when a party is in power for so long. Siddu’s reaction is childish: BSYOn doubts raised by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah about electronic voting machines (EVMs) saying that BJP won despite anti-incumbency factor due to the EVMs, Yeddyurappa termed it as “childish”. “Siddaramaiah knows well about EVMs.

The very same EVMs were used in recently held by-polls in Gundlupet and Nanjangud assembly constituencies which were retained by Congress. How can Siddaramaiah doubt the EVMs now?,” he said.
On Congress-led state government’s proposal to recommend the Union government to declare Lingayat a separate religion, Yeddyurappa said, “We have already cleared our stand that we support whatever decision taken by the Akhila Bharatha Veerashaiva Mahasabha and Siddaganga Mutt pontiff Sri Shivakumara Swamiji in this regard.”
