Market Now: Nifty Auto index hits fresh record high
BSE Sensex was 101 points up at 33,703.
NEW DELHI: Nifty Auto index hit a fresh record high of 11,802 in Tuesday's trade, backed by gains in Motherson Sumi Systems (up 3.61 per cent), Hero MotoCorp (up 3.02 per cent), Eicher Motors (up 2.66 per cent), Bharat Forge (up 2.59 per cent), TVS Motor Company (up 2.27 per cent) and Amara Raja Batteries (up 2.18 per cent).

Shares of Ashok Leyland (up 1.79 per cent), Tata Motors (up 1.74 per cent), Bajaj Auto (up 1.70 per cent), Tata Motors (DVR) (up 1.68 per cent), Maruti Suzuki India (up 1.66 per cent) and Apollo Tyres (up 1.53 per cent) were also seen in the green zone.

The Nifty Auto index was trading 1.68 per cent up at 11,784 around 1 pm (IST).

Bosch (down 0.32 per cent) and MRF (down 0.22 per cent) were the two components in the Nifty Auto index that were in the red around that time.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 33 points at 10,422, while the BSE Sensex was 101 points up at 33,703.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 37 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of SAIL, REC, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, PFC, ICICI Bank, Power Grid, Vedanta Ltd, Ashok Leyland, Bank of Baroda, Motherson Sumi and Idea Cellular were among the most traded stocks on the National Stock Exchange.
