Dehradun: Leopard enters houses, creates panic among residents

The residents of Keval Vihar on Shashastadhara road are gripped with fear as the leopard, who remained hidden in kitchen garden of a house for six hours, escaped just few minutes before it could be tranquilised. The entire episode also exposed shortcoming in the way forest department functions as for the entire day the forest team waited for a veterinarian from Rajaji Tiger Reserve to arrive as there was no one trained person in Dehradun or Mussoorie Forest Divisions to tranquilise the leopard.
