In all, 29 complaints have been received from the common people during the public hearing- started by the Dehradun District Magistrate SA Murugesan- held at the Collectorate on Monday. Such hearings are being held on every Monday since November 20.
DM Murugesan heard out the grievances of the people and directed the department officers to address their concerns at the earliest. Complaints related to electricity, power, drinking water, road, food grains, sanitation, education, health and pensions were received in course of the public hearing.
DM said that most of the complaints relate to land disputes and asked the revenue officers and those from MDDA and Municipal Corporation to act on them. Some complaints received related to matters pending in courts. DM said they could not do anything until the courts pass orders on them.
He said that the aim of holding such public hearings on each Monday was to invite the people to air their concerns followed by their redressal on the spot. Departments concerned have been directed to solve plaints related to road constructions, laying of water supply pipelines and the like, he said.
