Pakistan- Tourist from Canada pays Rs11.7 million to hunt ibex in Chitral

(MENAFN - Tribal News Network) CHITRAL, 19 December: A tourist from Canada successfully hunted an ibex in Chitral after submitting Rs11.7 million in the government exchequer.

Divisional Forest Officer Wildlife Altaf Ali Shah told local journalists on Monday that the ibex hunted by Brian Adam Hauck was nine years old and its horns were 38 inches long. He said 80 percent of the money will be spent on the local people, while 20 percent will be submitted in the government kitty.

Mr Altaf said the number of ibexes has increased in Chitral with the cooperation of the local people. He said the money received from legal hunting of ibex will be spent on development projects in the area.

The government publishes advertisements in newspapers for legal hunting of ibex and successful bidder gets trophy hunting licence. After getting permit, the licence holders can hunt ibex in specified locations of Chitral.
