North East Flavours - a one of its kind experience to savour delectable cuisines from the entire North East under one roof
-North East Flavours opens in New Delhi to promote NE cuisines with specialist chefs from all the seven states of India’s North East

The North East region of India represents a potpourri of different cultures, unique flavours and delectable cuisines. The North East Flavours, which opened in the capital today, is a bold attempt to bring all the varied and distinctive North East fare together at one place.

Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India and Smt. Nishita Goswami, popular film actress from Assam inaugurated North East Flavours amid much fanfare. Inaugurating North East Flavours, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Govt. of India said, “It is a proud moment for us that a north eastern youth is promoting NE cuisines in the capital. Food is something that unites everyone.”

All the seven states of the North East find equal representation in the menu at North East Flavours, with specialised dishes and recipes that will surely delight the foodies of the city. North East Flavours is the only place that specialises in cooking authentic cuisines from all the seven North Eastern states, which is highly difficult and expertly managed. Seven chefs specialising in local food from each of the seven states have been handpicked at the North East Flavours to serve authentic food from every region for the patrons.

North East Flavours has come up with the idea to promote North Eastern cuisines and at the sametime highlight specialities from all the seven states. Most of the dishes are oil free and cooked with organic, indigenous jungle herbs. North East Flavours has adopted the ancient, ancestral recipes and aroma to maintain a healthy lifestyle to which our forefathers were used to. All the herbs and spices are sourced directly from the North East to preserve the essence of the dishes.

Talking about the launch of North East Flavours, Bill Lotha said, "North East Flavours is an attempt to promote and showcase North Eastern cuisines and soft power skills to the world at large. I personally believe that North Eastern cuisine is comparable with the best in the world and this aims to bring the wondrous flavours of North East together at one place. We have gone at great lengths to procure the most authentic ingredients, fully organic herbs and spices to present the genuine North East experience for our esteemed patrons. Our cooking is almost oil free, which will surely appeal to the health conscious."

Spoilt for choice, food lovers will find a wide as well as diverse range of dishes to choose from. While there is Ngatok from Arunachal Pradesh, which is fish cooked in Arunachal style with indigenous, exotic and aromatic herbs, there is Aksol Dol from Assam which is chicken curry with yam leafs and organic herbs.

The signature dish from Nagaland is the Wokoso Rhuchii/Rhuchak (pork cooked in ancient Naga style with fermented organic bamboo shoot stem and aromatic herbs), the Mangan Ooty from Manipur (green peas curry in fresh bamboo shoots & natural herbs) also vies for attention.
