BSNL to roll out 4G services by June 2018

HYDERABAD: ETo extend higher data speed to the customers of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), Telecom circle, 4G services would be rolled out in Telangana by June 2018, chief general manager of Telecom Telangana Circle V Sundar has said.As part of the project, 550 Node’s B (4G towers) are being installed in various districts of  the State at a cost of  `120 crore and the process would be completed by April 2018, he added.

The new CGM told media that for another 424 sites, 3G towers will be installed in all districts to cover important villages, educational institutions, pilgrim centres etc. Meanwhile, 3G services will be provided in Khammam and Mahboobnagar, where 2G services are being offered at present. Sundar said that BSNL has reached 1 crore connections including 13 lakh new connections this year and would reach 21 lakh new connections by the end of the year.
