Samajwadi party president and former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has said the results of the Gujarat state assembly elections have proved that the Gujarat model of development was a hoax which is not even remotely related to the ground reality and the welfare of the common people.
``The Gujarat election results are a clear indication that the people do not like the political forces which fail to carry out the development. The elections results are a clear example that the people cannot be swayed for long by false claims of development and capturing power’’, said the SP leader.
Welcoming the election results he said ``the BJP made tall claims of winning 150 assembly seats, the prime minister, union ministers and chief ministers of several states camped in Gujarat and BJP used all possible tricks to influence the people but the results were exact opposite to the claims of the BJP and their tally was reduced to less than 100 seats’’.
``The Gujarat assembly elections have exposed the casteist and communal character of the BJP. The BJP leaders used unparliamentarily and intemperate language during the election campaign and lowered the dignity of the politics and the institution of democracy’’, charged the SP president.
SP president also make a dig on the prime minister narendra Modi for using sea plane for election campaign in Gujarat. `` How come this gimmick of using sea plane is related with the development of the state’’. He also questioned the use of Electronic voting machines in the assembly elections. ``The election process in democracy should be transparent so as to retrain the trust of the people in the democratic process and the people have more faith on the ballot papers’’, said the SP president.
