Arsenal legend Ian Wright SLAMS Alexis Sanchez: He should be more like Philippe Coutinho

ARSENAL will not miss Alexis Sanchez if he leaves the clubs next month.

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez could leave the club next month

That’s according to Gunners legend Ian Wright.

The Chilean forward is out of contract at the end of the season and Arsene Wenger may look to sell him when the transfer window opens to recoup some of his fee.

Speculation surrounding his future dominated headlines during the summer and the 28-year-old came close to joining runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.

The transfer fell through and he remained at the Emirates but he’s flattered to deceive so far this campaign.

And Wright, who is Arsenal’s second-highest goalscorer in history, is disappointed with Sanchez’s attitude this season.

“His attitude is saying a lot about him. If he could have gone in January, the way he’s playing now, I can’t see how that’s gonna hurt Arsenal.”

“Sanchez looks to me like he’s clocked off,” he said on BBC Radio Five Live.

“His attitude is saying a lot about him. If he could have gone in January, the way he’s playing now, I can’t see how that’s gonna hurt Arsenal.

“He’s not playing well enough, he’s not putting in a shift.

“I know Coutinho’s not coming to the end of his contract but Coutinho did want to leave. He made it clear, he put a transfer request in.

Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho was linked with Barcelona during the summer

“Look at the way he’s playing, look at the way Ozil’s playing. The fact is you’ve got to still put it in.

“It says a lot about him. For people looking in, who are potential buyers, what are they thinking about him and his attitude?”

Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League, 19 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side.

They return to action tonight as they host West Ham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final (7.45pm), before a league clash against Liverpool on Friday.
