A charge of criminal negligence causing death has been filed against a trainer involved in a water and ice rescue course that took the life of a student firefighter in 2015.

Terry Harrison, who runs a private safety training company, was on hand during the death of 30-year-old firefighting student Adam Brunt in 2015.

Brunt died after being trapped under watrer for around 30 minutes near Hanover, Ont.

Harrison is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 24 in Walkerton, Ont.
