Bill O'Brien: Texans' effort not lacking against Jaguars

Football coaches often joke about burning the tape of a particularly bad game.
The Texans' 45-7 road loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars qualifies as one of those. It was hardly an instructional video on how to play the sport.
Although the Texans were inept and outhit at every turn by the Jaguars, Texans coach Bill O'Brien emphasized that their effort wasn't lacking.
That said, he doesn't think there's anything valuable to be gleaned from this kind of setback.
Houston Chronicle sports writer John McClain gives the Houston Texans an F- with their poor performance on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Media: R. Carter, Houston Chronicle“There’s really not too much you can build off of, other than the fact that I do know that our guys, just from watching the tape, that our guys played very hard the whole game," O'Brien said. "But there’s nothing to really build off of that type of game. Look, I don’t know. It was all three phases. We just didn’t play a good game at all.
"So, whether it was finishing strong – we didn’t start well, we didn’t finish, we didn’t do anything well. That would be the answer to that.”
