As many as 1,613 candidates of the district took the written examination conducted for the post of Assistant Conservator of Forest on Sunday. The absentees figure in the exam conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission was 1,275. The examination was conducted at seven centres in the district with 10 chief superintendents deployed to monitor the centres.
Two mobile teams were constituted to take the question paper and answer sheets to the examination centres. The examination exercise was videographed with police personnel deployed to provide security. Special buses were also operated.
Collector K. Rajamani inspected a couple of examination centres, a release said.
