NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Smallcap index was trading 0.45 per cent up at 18,253 around 10:30 am (IST) on Monday, with shares of Renaissance Jewellery (up 18.48 per cent) and SQS India BFSI (up 10.24 per cent) surging over 10 per cent.

Shares of Waterbase (up 9.99 per cent), Chaman Lal Setia Exports (up 6.47 per cent), Forbes & Company (up 5.63 per cent), Kolte-Patil Developers (up 5.51 per cent), JMC Projects (India) (up 5.39 per cent), Fineotex Chemical (up 5.35 per cent), Hester Biosciences (up 5.30 per cent), Uttam Sugar Mills (up 5.29 per cent), MIRC Electronics (up 5.15 per cent) and Godawari Power & Ispat (up 5.12 per cent) gained over 5 per cent in the BSE Smallcap index.

However, Balasore Alloys (down 10.03 per cent), Gujarat NRE Coke (down 5.63 per cent), Ricoh India (down 4.99 per cent), Signet Industries (down 4.98 per cent), Steel Exchange India (down 4.93 per cent), Energy Development Company (down 4.40 per cent), Gujarat NRE Coke (down 4.32 per cent) and Flexituff International (down 4.08 per cent) cracked over 4 per cent in the smallcap space.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 64 points up at 10,397, while the BSE Sensex was 191 points up at 33,654.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 36 were trading in the green, while 13 were in the red.

Shares of Vedanta, GAIL, Cipla, Hindalco, Adani Ports SEZ and Mahindra & Mahindra were seen catching buyers' attention.

However, Tech Mahindra, Indian Oil Corporation, HPCL, BPCL, Power Grid and Indiabulls Housing Finance were experiencing selling pressure.
