CHANDIGARH: Haryana chief minister Manohal Lal Khattar said on Sunday that officers who participated in the three-day 'chintan shivir' would take up one block each and ensure bringing its development to a prescribed level. Necessary funds would be allocated for any special project or scheme in that block, he added. Khattar was addressing a press conference in Pinjore near here after the 'chintan shivir' being organized at Timber Trail, Parwanoo, concluded.
The CM said that the officers would prepare a scheme for the selected blocks by identifying these on the basis of five to ten parameters from the vision emerging from the 'shivir'. An announcement to this effect would be made and additional budget would be allocated for this purpose. The blocks which will achieve the prescribed level, officers concerned will be honoured on the Civil Services Day on April 21, 2018. If all blocks are bought above the prescribed level, irrespective of when the status is achieved, all officers would be honoured, he added.

"Faith of the people in the functioning of the present state government has been enhanced. The officers have been asked to work freely without any pressure," said Khattar. He also elaborated upon the success of major decisions like educational qualifications for village bodies heads and delegation of his powers in various departments and independent functioning of department heads as well as the ministers. Khattar also took a dig at the opposition parties, especially the Congress, which had termed the 'shivir' as an entertainment camp.

"Opposition means to oppose anything. Therefore, it is obvious that the opposition parties will oppose even the good works done by the government. But, we will continue to work for the betterment of the people," he asserted.

Haryana governor Kaptan Singh Solanki said, "Public representatives and bureaucrats should serve the society with utmost sensitivity, cooperation and dedication. Only then, we can move forward with a vision." He was also speaking on the concluding day of the 'shivir'. He said that the importance of the Constitution in the world was due to its nature and culture. He also sang the 'shivir geet', adding that it was a very old song which contained the culture of the country.

Khattar, Vidhan Sabha speaker Kanwar Pal, all ministers, MLAs and administrative secretaries were also present on the occasion.

Call it an anticipation of change, senior functionaries of Himachal Pradesh government, who included DGP, ADGP and administrative secretaries, on Sunday made a courtesy call on Khattar. A huge team of Himachal BJP workers and other officials too had made a beeline for the resort to meet and greet the Haryana CM.
