A stolen vehicle was shot at more than 30 times Monday morning on the South Side, prompting a police search for the people responsible.

San Antonio Police Sgt. Darryl Rooks said two people pulled into an apartment complex in the 100 block of West Amber around 11 a.m. and opened fire on the vehicle.

No one was wounded in the shooting and now investigators are trying to determine why someone would shoot an an unoccupied car.

The suspects fled the apartment complex in a late 90s model gold or tan colored sedan. Police are now searching for vehicles matching that description.

"Unfortunately, we don't have a whole lot right now," Rooks said. "There's gonna be more if something else happens that we can tie it to, but right now we don't have anyone else to talk to who knows a whole lot."

Police also discovered the vehicle that was shot at, a Kia Soul, was reported stolen. Because no one was in the car at the time of the shooting, police aren't sure whether there was an intended victim.

Investigators found two different calibers of shell casings at the scene, indicating both suspects fired at the Kia Soul.

Crime scene investigators are now examining the shell casings and searching for other evidence.
