Udaipur: Parents staged a mass protest outside a private school in Kanore town of the district on Monday. They were infuriated as the management forced all students to take off their sweaters as the sweaters were not according to the uniform code.

The dress code had been recently changed. Seeing the tension, police had to intervene and the parents complained to the block development officer and demanded stringent action. The incident took place at Universal Public School in Sarangpura where the kids were asked to take off their sweaters and remain without them in the cold weather.

When the parents came to know about the incident, they gathered outside the school and protested. The school principal told the parents that students have to abide by dress code and there would be no relaxation. This infuriated the parents further who gave a written complaint to the SHO demanding investigation in the matter.

Some of the parents said that the wollen dress code was changed this year and on Saturday students were told to purchase new sweaters from the school. Those who didn't buy from school were made to take off the sweaters that they had been wearing. Parents said that the school authorities acted inhumanly as little children were exposed to the freezing cold. Residents demanded that the authorities should cancel the school's licence.
