Villanova will spend another week atop the USA TODAY Sports coaches poll. USA TODAY Sports
The ranks of the unbeaten in men’s college basketball are dwindling rapidly, but one of the last ones still tops the USA TODAY Sports men’s basketball coaches poll.
Villanova retains the No. 1 ranking for another week, picking up 26 of 32 first-place votes. Michigan State holds the No. 2 position and received the other six top nods. Duke, the team that handed the Spartans their lone loss early on, is back up to No. 3. Unbeaten Arizona State’s historic rise continues. The Sun Devils topped their previous high in the poll moving into a tie for fourth with North Carolina.

Only two other teams still have unblemished records. Those are Miami (Fla.), which checks in at No. 7 this week behind Kentucky, and No. 12 TCU, last season’s NIT champion which can now claim the longest active winning streak.
No. 21 Texas Tech makes its poll debut, and Cincinnati returns to the rankings in a tie for No. 22 with Seton Hall. Notre Dame and Florida, who were both in the top five less than a month ago, fall out of the Top 25.
