Man Utd legend Paul Parker makes claim about Paul Pogba and Man City… is he right?

MANCHESTER UNITED legend Paul Parker claims Paul Pogba would NOT have affected the result of the Manchester derby if he was available.

Manchester United legend Paul Parker says Paul Pogba would not have affected the loss to Man City

However, Parker reckons the rest of the Manchester United squad were negatively affected by the Frenchman’s absence.

Pogba missed the huge clash at Old Trafford eight days ago as he was serving the first match of his three-match ban for getting sent off against Arsenal earlier this month.

Manchester City beat rivals United 2-1 thanks to goals from David Silva and Nicholas Otamendi.

Pep Guardiola’s side are now 11 points clear of the Red Devils after 18 games this season.

Would Pogba have made a difference in the result? I think that’s the one where we have to say maybe not

Parker says Paul Pogba would have had an impact on the game but still may not have been able to end City's winning run, which now stands at 16.

“Well he definitely makes a difference when he is in the team,” Parker told ESPN.

“Would Manchester City have been that in control of midfield if he had been there? Maybe not.

“Maybe the factor of he would have got on the ball and with his energy he would have run with it and given United more time to be able to go forward as a unit if he had been there.

“Would he have made a difference in the result? I think that’s the one where we have to say maybe not.

“He would have added something and maybe with the presence he’s had already he may have lifted a few players knowing he was there.

“I’ve been in situations when a big player’s missing and when they’re not there, you feel it.

“You lose that little bit of belief and maybe a few players lost that belief because he wasn’t there.”
