'Santa Claus' filmed in high-speed pursuit of hit and run driver

A MOTORCYCLIST dressed as Father Christmas was filmed as he was involved in a high-speed chase to capture a hit and run driver.

The footage – filmed on a head-mounted camera – shows the moment motorsport fan Chris was enjoying a festive ride, before he saw a pedestrian being rammed by a black Renault.

The driver makes a dash for it as Chris and other road users try to box him in.

A high-speed chase through the streets of Paris follows, as the driver narrowly avoids hitting cars.

MERRY CHRISTMAS: Santa saved the day

Dressed as Santa Claus, Chris manages to get in front of the driver on a few occasions but she refuses to give herself up.

But the YouTube star enjoys a stroke of luck as he spots two police officers in the distance.

After grabbing their attention  we then see officers swarm the vehicles and point weapons at the offender.

They then arrest her and the situation is resolved.

Captured on Friday, the Frenchman uploaded the footage to his YouTube channel CHRIS-RS.

He wrote: “I put on my Santa costume for a new video. People were happy to see me dressed like that and say hello. It is after Place Vendôme that the dramatic scene arrives… I had to try to stop this person."

It has already racked up over 700,000 views with many people congratulating Chris for his bravery.

One comment joked: “That was intense! Why did she run? Everyone knows Santa already knows where you live.”

Chris has notified people that the victim of the attack is “recovering without much harm”.
