Terrorists shoot BD national to death in SA

Noakhali : A Bangladeshi national has been shot dead by terrorists in South Africa's port city Cape Town.

Deceased Jamal Uddin, 36, was the son of Abul Khayer Bechu Mia, a resident of Padipara village  under Amishpara union in Sonaimuri upazila.He was a father of two children aged 11 and 3.

Amishapar UP chairman Alamgir Hossain Bhuiyan confirmed the matter.

Family sources said armed assailants stormed Jamal's store at 4am local time (9am BST) on Saturday and started looting cash money and goods.  They shot Jamal on his head when he intercepted them from looting, leaving him dead on the spot.

Jamal's family came to know the death through social media on Saturday night.

The violent murder cast a pall of gloom over the area.

Family members informed Jamal was a grocer in Dhaka and went to South Africa two years ago for making his fortune.

After working in a local company for a year, Jamal, later, built up his own business centre.
