Adele Rennie, 27, used a voice-changing system to seduce victims after trawling social media and dating websites.

She posed as a “Dr David Graham” and others to target 10 women over four years. One, a beauty queen, was a relative of one of her patients.

Rennie, who worked at Crosshouse Hospital in Ayrshire, admitted 18 charges, including stalking, sexual offences, data protection breaches and attempting to pervert justice.

Her victims included a woman aged 23 she - contacted on Facebook in 2013 while posing as “Dr Graham”.

She used stolen photos of a salesman from Sunderland to create fake profiles on the social networking website and dating sites.

Rennie conned the woman into sending her explicit photographs of herself and replied with images of a naked man. Another victim agreed, after “relentless” pestering, to share sexual messages with the bogus doctor and now suffers from depression and anxiety.

Kilmarnock Sheriff Court heard that, in 2014, Rennie again posed as David Graham to contact a 17-year-old girl via the Tinder dating app.

The nurse sent her victim pictures of women, asking what she thought of them.

Rennie also gained the sympathy of her victims by telling them that close relatives were dying of cancer or had suffered heart attacks.

Sheriff Elizabeth McFarlane yesterday jailed Rennie for 22 months, made her the subject of a five-year non-harassment order and placed her on the sex -offenders register for 10 years.

After the hearing, Laura Mundell, Procurator Fiscal for North Strathclyde, said: “Her campaign of stalking and harassment and the invasion of the personal lives of her victims was wholly unacceptable and caused significant anxiety and alarm.”
