Truck hits bike, 2 riders killed

Two persons died after their bike was hit by a speeding truck near Pooja lodge under Bairagarh police station area late on Friday night.

Police said at around 11 pm two persons were rushed to a nearby hospital after their bike was hit by a speeding vehicle. However, on arrival they were declared dead. The deceased were identified as Ram Bihari Dubey (40) of Subhash Nagar and Waseem Qureshi (35) of Foota Makbra area.

The truck bearing registration number MP09-KC-2349 hit the motorbike of the deceased from behind leaving the two severely injured and later when they were rushed to hospital they were declared dead. Police said that the two were on their way to home after work. The two used to work with BRTS and were deployed with the buses.

After the preliminary investigation the bodies were sent for post mortem and a case under section 304 A and 279 of the IPC was registered.

The truck driver escaped the spot leaving the truck, police have started search of the errant driver. The truck was seized by the police later in the investigation.

Meanwhile, a 50-year-old woman died after she was hit by a speeding vehicle while trying to cross a road at Sindhi Colony under Teelajamalpura police station area on Friday.

The injured woman was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead. She was identified as Shakunbai Visjwakarma of Nishatpura.

The body was sent for the post mortem and a case under section 174 of the CrPC was registered. Search for the vehicle has been started.
