BENGALURU: Tearing into the Siddaramaiah-led state government for its inaction in the murders of Hindu activists and rise in the crime rate in the State, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that the persons responsible will be brought to book if BJP is voted to power.Addressing the Parivarthana Yatra rally here on Sunday, he said that Hindu activists such as Rudresh, Kattappa and Paresh Mesta were murdered in the State.

“Gauri Lankesh was also killed. What is the State government doing? If BJP comes to power, we will go to the bottom of it. Nobody will be spared,” he said.He said the Congress was pursuing the politics of ‘divide and rule’. “If someone is trying to set fire in the State and benefit from it, then it is the Congress. BJP is trying to douse the flames,” he said.
Criticising the State for celebrating Tipu Jayanti, he asked why the State government decided to fiddle with such a controversial issue. “The State government is raising such issues to divide people. Why can’t the government celebrate freedom fighters such as Kittur Rani Channamma or engineers such as Sir M Visvesvaraya?” he asked.
Karnataka, he said, was among the three most corrupt states in the country.“Strong steps are not being taken to curb crime and corruption in the State. I assure you that if B S Yeddyurappa is voted to power, all goonda elements and criminals will be put behind bars,” he said.
