Perfect blend of old and new hits enthrall audience

NAGPUR: Music lovers were treated to a perfect blend of old and new Bollywood songs presented nicely by budding artistes at a show organized by Sargam group in collaboration with Jagadambadham, Bokhara, at Sai Sabhagruha on Saturday.
Manu Kumar Shrivastav, principal secretary (revenue) and Mahesh Pathak, principal secretary (food and civil supplies), were the guests of honour.

The programme began with vocalist Jyotiram Iyer rendering 'Paradesiyon se na akhiya milana', followed by 'Tu kahan ye bata', 'Jane bahar husn tera' and 'Mohabbat jinda rahti hai'.

Listening to melodies, senior bureaucrat Pathak could not resist the temptation of taking the mike and presented old classics 'Ye nayan dare dare' and 'Woh shaam kuchh ajeeb thi'.

Other hits like 'Tere mere beech mein', 'Ghungaroo ki tarah', 'Kaun aaya mere dware', 'Mana ho tum', 'Taron mei saja ke', 'Piya bawri', 'Tera mujhse hai pahle', 'Kholo kholo darwaze', 'Chand ko kya maloom', 'Mohe rang do laal', 'Surmai akhiyon mai', 'Kya khoob lagti ho', 'Le jaye jane kaha hawayen', 'Jeevan se bhari' and 'Jeena yaha marna yaha' were well received by the audience.


Apart from Unnikrishnan, who conceptualized and organized the show and Iyer, Devika Nair, Arvind Patil, Manish Nair, Dhiraj and Nandu Andhare were the other singers who regaled the audience.


The accompanying artistes were Parimal Joshi (keyboard), Gaurav Tanksale (guitar), Robin William (bass guitar), Pankaj Yadav (tabla), Mahendra Watkular (octopad) and Aniket Dahekar (dholak). The sound system was managed by Swapnil and lights by Sunil Michael. Rajendra Pandey, founder of Jagdambadham, and other dignitaries were present. Manish Nair proposed a vote of thanks.
