The average binge-watcher will spend around five hours tuned into TV this Christmas Day, spurred on by family favourites like the Doctor Who Christmas Special and Call the Midwife.

One in eight, nearly seven million, Brits are most looking forward to watching festive TV and films with the family this Christmas, according to uSwitch.com.

Black Mirror has become one of Netflix’s biggest hits and will return with new episodes on the streaming site on December 27.

With Only Fools and Horses topping the 10 classic programmes viewers would like to see return for a Christmas special list, fans will be delighted to hear that the entire boxset is available to watch on Netflix.

Of course, there are plenty of other series to tuck into over Christmas including The Crown, Peaky Blinders up to series 3, and Breaking Bad.

Netflix are also releasing a whole host of original series, with Dark and Ultimate Beastmaster season 2 already streaming, and Fuller House season 3 (launches 22nd December), The Toys That Made Us season 1 (22nd December) and Travelers season 2 (26th December) coming soon.

Original docu-series Wormwood is available now, along with Judd Apatow: The Return stand up special.

Netflix have bagged Christmas favourite Miracle on 34th Street, the film that sees a lawyer and a young girl trying to prove that a man claiming to be Santa Claus is the real deal.

A Christmas Prince has been a popular addition to the site this December, with Netflix even teasing its own viewers.

The film sees Christmas come early for an aspiring young journalist when she is sent abroad to get the scoop on a dashing prince who's poised to be king.

Netflix tweeted: “To the 53 people who've watched A Christmas Prince every day for the past 18 days: Who hurt you?”

Popular 2003 romantic comedy Love Actually will be a winter hit once more as fans tune in to watch the annual feel-good film.

The film follows the lives of eight very different couples who are each dealing with their own love lives in various ways.

Krampus (available 25 December) will be a treat for horror fans, as Santa takes a darker turn.

The movie tells the tale of the evil Krampus monster, providing both scares and laughs, featuring Adam Scott, Toni Collette and David Koechner.

El Camino Christmas, starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Jessica Alba and Dax Shepard, is another festive dark comedy which sees Luke Grimes (Fifty Shades of Grey) attempt to track down the father he’s never met, only to get trapped on Christmas Eve in an off licence robbery with five random strangers.
