Mel B claims she was 'close to death' in heartbreaking post

SPICE Girl Mel B has opened up about her struggles admitting she almost didn't make it through the other side.

SPEAKING OUT: Mel B posted a concerning message online

The star, who has split with husband Stephen Belafonte, took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message with her fans.

In a long post, Mel wrote: "After my fathers death nothing could touch me anymore.

"For example, I've felt all morning I have the devil on my shoulder whispering in my ear 'you're not strong enough to handle the storm' so after I finished my morning routine, cooking my kids breakfast and feeding my two frenchies and my two fainting goats, [I] thought hold on a minute stop.

"Then I started yelling back to this diablo 'I AM the frigging storm.' Boom."

    The Spice Girl continued: "People often say to me (amongst other things haha but I will address those things in another post),'Oh Mel B your so strong' and I have to think to myself, yes I am strong, but listen I’m only strong because I’ve been incredibly weak and during that weak time I taught myself how to access my inner strength,and I did.

    "Listen in my life I have been through many different situations that not many people know about, I've have been close to death literally and paralyzed with fear which in due course over time has made me fearless extremely fearless.

    "Some say 'Oh that Mel B is Spontaneous and CRAZY' plzzzzz, to that I say no ,it’s called living in your truth and following your inner voice and trusting and believing that you are guided even when logic would say otherwise.

In the words of Earth Kitt “I have no colour” boom,”and that is how barriers are broken.” So be careful who you invite into your soul,surround yourself with people that are only going to take you higher whether that be spiritually or physically.

      OVER: Mel B and Stephen Belafonte have now split

      While it is unclear exactly what incidents Mel is referring to widespread reports claimed Belafonte 'abused' Mel over their decade long marriage.

      In December 2014, Mel appeared at The X Factor final covered in bruises and without her wedding ring.

      In court documents the star alleged that the marks were ‘facial and body wounds from [Stephen’s] abuse’ that ‘could not be concealed with make-up’.

      STRAINED: Mel's divorce has been messy to say the least

      The legal paper work read: "...it was clear that I was no longer wearing my wedding ring.

      "I wanted to send a message… that I was no longer going to let him abuse me."

      Denying the allegations, Stephen tweeted: "I don’t usually respond to Twitter msgs but I will respond to comments of hitting my wife which I think are quite disgusting and untrue.

      "Mel was very ill a bunch of doctors helped her get better if fans can’t just relax B4 being negative they are not real fans of Mel B."
