Have yourself a very Nazi Christmas with this 'folk symbol'

RESIDENTS of a town in Latvia were shocked after seeing a huge swastika lit up by lights among the Christmas decorations one of their neighbour's homes.

According to RT, local authorities in Saldus, western Latvia, brushed off complaints, claiming it is an ancient folk symbol that is unrelated to the Nazis.

It is reportedly the Latvian symbol of fire known as the "Fire Cross", with a district council representative telling Delfi News Portal that the owner of the house always puts up Christmas decorations and decided to include the symbol this year.

The "Fire Cross" is iconic to the god of thunder, light, lightning, power and happiness.

"This is not a swastika. A swastika is the other way around," Uldis, a local janitor, told RT.
