Tea Day: B’pur denizens hold Chai Pe Charcha

The International Tea Day (December 15) was celebrated here with a programme “Chai Pe Charcha” held with city dwellers, media friends and intellectual mass here.

Organising the day, the Samparka Mass Media invited hundreds of people getting together at Badakhemundi Street having cup of tea in every hand. The morning tea session began with “Good Morning Brahmapur” addressed by CMD of Samparka Mass Media Sanat Panda. It was presided over by editor of Paryatan Bharat Narayan Mahankuda.

Intellectuals, including Editor Bibidhh Sambad Gourango Choudhury, general secretary of Ganjam Bar Council Pitabas Panda and Jagan Mohan Mohapatro of Nitidin Odia daily, took part in the event. The speakers marked the tea as an instrument of friendship and deliberated on a host of issues.

Assistant Health Officer of Berhampur Municipal Corporation participating in the discussion, urged to keep Brahmapur clean. Distribution of dustbins and their continuous use in tea stalls will make the silk city shine, he added.

Among others, local Corporator Lili Kumai Behera, advocate Madan Mohan Patro, Rajesh Pattnaik, Asutosh Mahapatra, Asit Panda, Prasanta Kumar Das, Sarat Kumar Singh were present.

The day was specially marked by sand artist Satya Narayan Maharana, presenting a model of sand art of cup and saucer. AVT tea sponsored by the brand was distributed among the people.
