After a long wait, it was this year that BMW Motorrad officially made its entry into India with some of the choicest models in its portfolio for India. One name among them stood out, which was the BMW S 1000 RR, the most potent model in BMW Motorrad India's line-up and the winner of the Performance/Luxury Motorcycle of the year at the 2018 NDTV CarandBike awards. Our motorcycle jury members too had a whale of a time riding the S 1000 RR at the Buddh International Circuit, our hallowed testing ground for cars and bikes over the last few years. It impressed our jurors to no end with its raw pace and power.
Adding to its repertoire are high-tech electronics and high quality cycle parts. The BMW S 1000 RR faced tough competition from a variety of motorcycles such as the BMW S 1000 R, Ducati 1299 Superleggera, the Avantura Chopper Twins, Suzuki GSX R 1000 and the BMW K 1600 GTL.
