Van Dijk can improve Liverpool or Man Utd but is not good enough for Chelsea - Terry
SOUTHAMPTON defender Virgil van Dijk would walk straight into the starting XI of most of the Premier League’s top sides, but not Chelsea.

That is the view of Chelsea legend and Aston Villa centre-back John Terry.
Van Dijk was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last summer and handed in a transfer request in order to force through a move.
However, Southampton refused to let him go and he was made to train away from the first-team until the transfer window shut.
The Dutchman has been reintegrated back into the Saints side but has struggled and was dropped for the trip to face Terry's former side Chelsea on Saturday.
Chelsea he makes their squad better, I’m not sure he starts
Terry reckons Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal would love someone like Van Dijk and says even runaway leaders Manchester City could find a place for him in their team.
But he does not think he would displace a Chelsea defender for a starting spot.
“If you look at Liverpool he certainly goes into their starting line-up and improves them,” Terry said on Sky Sports.
“Arsenal he does the same, Chelsea he makes their squad better, I’m not sure he starts.

“Man City, I think he improves their starting XI, Man United certainly.
“I think the money we are speaking about is where we are at in today’s market.
“But I think he goes into all of them squads and makes them better.
“So I’m pretty sure they’re all going to be in for him in January.”
