Azerbaijani dancers will bringNutcrackerto life with exquisite dancing, beautiful sets and Tchaikovsky's glorious score.

"The Nutcracker" ballet will be staged at Azerbaijani State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre on December 24 and January 4.

The ballet is a kind of New Year gift to young spectators.

Fantastically beautiful music by P. Tchaikovsky, interesting scenery and vibrant costumes will make it even more spectacular.

The cast includes Honored Artist of Azerbaijan Nigar Ibrahimova, dancers Anar Mikayilov,Timur Odushev, Jamil Karimov, Fail Bolgarov, Ayan Eyvazova, Leyla Narimanidze and FaigGubadov, Day.Az reported.

"TheNutcracker" is a classicalballetin two acts. It is based on E.T.A. Hoffmann's 1816 fairy tale "The Nutcrackerand the Mouse King". It was premiered at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg in 1892.

The ballet tells the story of a little girl who goes to the Land of Sweets on Christmas Eve. Ivan Vsevolozhsky and Marius Petipa adapted Hoffmann's story for the ballet. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky wrote the music.
