The skeletal remains of missing Intermediate student, Kongala Akash (17), were found in an under-construction house in Tiruvur in Krishna district on Sunday.
A native of Ganugupadu village in the district, Akash, son of Sanjeev, was studying second year Intermediate in a Gurukula Patasala.
On November 17, his parents reportedly chided him for neglecting studies. He left for college and had been missing from the same day. Family members, who searched in vain for the boy, lodged a complaint with the Tiruvur police.
The locals, who found the dried-up skeleton, on the first floor of the building alerted the police. The victim’s parents who visited the scene identified the linen and said that the remains were of Akash, said SI P. Lova Raju.
In a suicide note left behind, Akash said that he was deeply hurt with his parents’ behaviour and was resorting to suicide. Police registered a case under Section 174 CrPc (death occurred under suspicious circumstances) and took up investigation.
Letter to be sent to FSL
“We suspect that the boy committed suicide some 30 days ago and the cause of death will be known in the autopsy report. Police will send the suicide note purportedly written by Akash to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL),” Mr. Lova Raju said.
