Eros International rises after signing co-production deal

Eros International Media rose 3.07% to Rs 203.20 at 13:54 on after the company said it signed four film co-production deal with Drishyam Films.

The announcement was made during trading hours today, 18 December 2017.

Meanwhile, the S&P Sensex was up 297.35 points, or 0.89% to 33,760.32.

On the BSE, 61,000 shares were traded in the counter so far, compared with average daily volumes of 75,000 shares in the past two weeks. The stock had hit a high of Rs 204.50 and a low of Rs 191.40 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 308.40 on 28 March 2017. The stock hit a 52-week low of Rs 155.05 on 27 December 2016.

Eros International Media (Eros International) announced a four-film co-production deal with leading production house, Drishyam Films. Drishyam has over the years made a mark by producing content driven films that have received worldwide acclaim including Masaan, Rukh, Kadvi Hawa and India's entry to the Oscars in the Foreign Film category this year, the highly celebrated Newton.

In 2018, Eros and Drishyam will jointly produce four films. The first of the four projects, titled Kaamyaab starring Sanjay Mishra along with Deepak Dobriyal and directed by National-Award winning filmmaker Hardik Mehta has already gone on floor and commenced shooting on 25 November 2017.

On a consolidated basis, net profit of Eros International Media declined 8.01% to Rs 57.51 crore on 43.97% decline in net sales to Rs 268.26 crore in Q2 September 2017 over Q2 September 2016.
