According to reports, the people who were sleeping inside the building were burnt alive in the fire while those sleeping outside escaped unhurt

In another incident, a major fire broke out in a chemical unit in Turbhe node of neighbouring Navi Mumbai last evening at around 5pm. However, officials confirmed no one was hurt in the incident.

"The exact cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained", officials quoted as saying. " "The search and rescue operation is in progress," he added.
