National Dance-Drama Festival begins today

To mark the month of Victory, Bangladesh Nrityashilpi Shangstha (BNS) is organising a five-day dance drama festival in the capital in collaboration with Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). The third edition of the National Dance-Drama Festival will be inaugurated by Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor at BSA's National Theatre Hall today.

After the initial five days, the festival will continue across various districts around Bangladesh, where stage productions carrying the theme of the Liberation War, Bangladeshi folklore, as well as adaptations of Rabindranath Tagore's works will be performed.

“Through this initiative, we would like to celebrate and highlight our nation's traditions through song and dance, and hope to instill an awakening among our generation's youth towards the arts. This is why we have ensured the festival reaches regions scattered across Bangladesh,” stated Mahfuzur Rahman, General Secretary of BNS.
