No one wants to believe their partner is cheating on them, especially at Christmas. But the harsh reality is, 45% of men and 21% of women in the UK say they have been unfaithful to their current partner at some point.
To help you distinguish between paranoia and the truth, Ashley Madison, the world’s leading married dating website, has revealed some insightful truths about how adulterers behaviour over Christmas.

A whopping 30% of cheaters said they will schedule an alternate Christmas day with their extra-marital partner. Of these, 71% said they plan to meet within a week of Christmas Day – so be vigilant if your partner is planning a pre or post Christmas getaway.
Men who are playing away are most likely to buy their bit on the side jewellery for Christmas, much like Alan Rickman’s character Harry in Love Actually.
A further 13% of adulterous guys said they are intending to buy a sexy lingerie set for their other woman.
While women who play the field are more likely to buy their extramarital lover clothes (25%) or a kinky weekend away (19%).
According to survey results, these cheaters keep their family lives and secret lives completely separate over the holidays as 66% say they will not meet with their affair partner during this time of year.
Isabella Mise, Director of Communications for Ashley Madison revealed the website has an influx of new customers at this time of year.
“We have seen this trend over the past five years, with an 8.1% increase in news signups between December and January,” she said.

While unfaithful people will go to great lengths to cover up their affairs, a recent study revealed 49% have had sex with another lover in their marital home.
And while you might feel paranoid about good-looking strangers, it’s the people closer to home you should keep an eye on.
Research by Forktip , which quizzed 5,000 adults, found 22.4% cheated with a work colleague and 23.8% cheated with their partner's best friend. Ouch!
