Al-Ghanim: Tues. parliament session might extend until Thurs.

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Dec 18 (KUNA) -- The regular National Assembly session, scheduled tomorrow, might be extended until next Thursday to compensate for previously cancelled gatherings, said Parliament Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim Monday.

Speaking to the press, Al-Ghanim said that due to the resignation of the previous cabinet, parliamentary sessions saw some setbacks.

By mid-January 2018, all of the scheduled parliamentary sessions for the current legislative term would be covered, affirmed Al-Ghanim.

Meanwhile, Al-Ghanim said that a number of MPs called for addressing the US decision on Jerusalem as well as matters pertaining to internal and external challenges during tomorrow's session. The issues will have to be agreed upon by the government or an additional session would be held, said the Speaker.

In regards to the ongoing legal process connected with the intrusion of the National Assembly, Al-Ghanim said that the legislative authority respects the juridical authority's take on the matter, affirming that parliament will not be interfering in the case. (end) dn.gta
