A Knoxville man was arrested Sunday in connection with the the stabbing death of his father at his Strawberry Plains home that morning.
According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, John Paul Hillard, 37, of Knoxville, was arrested after officers responded to a reported stabbing at 7706 Rosie Lane shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. Upon arrival, officers found Hillard’s father, Daniel Lynn Hillard, 65, of Knoxville, inside the home with multiple stab wounds. First responders with American Medical Response pronounced him dead at the scene.

John Hillard was held and interviewed by the KCSO and has been charged with first-degree murder. Hillard is currently being held on a $1 million bond.
