S’garh teacher flees after wood seized

A  teacher  of  a Government School in  Sundargarh district  has  been  absconding in a wood  smuggling case for over aweek and has recently  filed  his  bail  application in  the CivilCourt.

Sundargarh Forest  officials  have  written  to  the Civil  Court, Sundargarh  not  to  grant  him  bail. The officials had recoveredillegal teak wood slippers worth about Rs 60,000 from his house. Theteacher, Bira Bikram Singhdeo, works in a Government girls’ high school in the district. He had escaped arrest since he was not presentin his house during the raid. His family members could not produce any legitimate documents insupport of the  wood. Singhdeo  is  still  absconding  and   we  have  written  to  Civil Court,  Sundargarh  not  to  grant  him  bail,” said Forest range officer,  Sundargarh sadar RK Swain.
