The end of the Patriots-Steelers game was absolutely bonkers, but really, it was tough to watch the final minute of that game without thinking that the NFL still has no idea what a catch is.

After JuJu Smith-Schuster broke free for a 69-yard reception to bring the Steelers to the New England 10-yard line, Ben Roethlisberger connected with Jesse James for an apparent go-ahead touchdown. But the play would be reviewed and ruled incomplete.

According to NFL rules, the receiver must maintain possession through the ground, and it was clear that James lost the football briefly as he extended across the goal line - sure. But he had already made a football move and had clear possession while crossing the plane. The officials ultimately ruled that the bobble upon hitting the ground was enough to negate the catch.

The Steelers would throw an interception two plays later and lose. And understandably, NFL fans could not stop talking about that controversial ruling.

Nothing is a catch.
