The Kansas City Chiefs moved back to the top of the AFC West with a 30-13 victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Kansas had won just one of their last five games, allowing the Chargers to move above them in a tight division, but Alex Smith threw for two touchdowns on Saturday night while Kareem Hunt rushed for another to secure a much-needed win.

Hunt, who also caught a touchdown pass, ran for 155 yards while Tyreek Hill had five receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown.

Philip Rivers was intercepted three times as the Chargers saw their four-match winning run come to an end.

Kansas improved to 8-6, while Los Angeles could be joined on 7-7 by the Oakland Raiders, who host the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

Elsewhere on Saturday, the Detroit Lions remained in wildcard contention with a 20-10 victory against the Chicago Bears.

Matthew Stafford threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns to improve his side's record to 8-6 in the battle for an NFC wildcard place.
