CM distributes cheques worth Rs 40 crores

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat distributed cheques worth Rs 40.74 crores among 12045 farmers under Pandit Deen Dayal Updhyaya Kisan Kalyan Yojana at Sitarganj on Saturday.

He also handed over certificates to some women self- help groups on the occasion. Addressing a programme organised at the GIC ground, Rawat said that the state government is working to protect the interests of the farmers of the state. He said that a loan upto Rs 1 lakh on an interest rate of 2 percent is being made available to them with the help of  the cooperative department and the farmers should make use of the scheme to double their income. Rawat said that deliberation to add women self- help groups in the scheme is being done. He  further said that the government has taken the decision to hand over the Sitar Ganj sugar mill in the PPP mode for catering to the larger interests of sugar cane growers. Reiterating the commitment of his government to act resolutely against corruption, CM said that  in the next five years, 90 percent of the corruption would be reined in. He said that all those involved in the National Highway (NH) scam would be brought to book.

CM also dwelt on the transfer act brought by the   State Government, saying that it would  bring transparency in the transfer of the government employees. He declared that the government would provide doctors in all the hospitals of the state in the next three months. CM linked the decision of the State Government to reduce the number of public holidays with its commitment to work and serve people.

CM sounded  displeased over time spent on felicitating and welcoming the guests and suggested that such programmes should be curtailed.
